The proceeds will help fund many CLC initiatives such as the National March for Life, LifeChain, and 40 days for life to name a few. Remember that your small change can lead to a BIG change in Canada Thank you for your contribution and for spreading the message on behalf of those who have no voice – the unborn. Lent
2011.03.11 - 11:14

Throughout the year, every Friday is a day of penance. All Catholics are invited to celebrate it by abstaining from meat, particularly during Lent time. However, we may substitute other good actions for abstinence from meat. These could include special acts of charity (visiting the sick or aged, helping those in any need, contributing time or money to a work of charity) or other acts of piety (taking part in a service of worship with others, praying with our family, spending some extra time in personal prayer). The law of fasting requires a Catholic from their 18th birthday to their 59th birthday to reduce the amount of food eaten from normal. The Church defines this as one meal a day, and two smaller meals which if added together would not exceed the main meal in quantity. Such fasting is obligatory on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday.
